Tunisia was my first trip to another continent. Going to Tunisia was exciting, but also a little scary.
At the time Arafat's PLO was there training. Their was a lot anti-American sentiment in the region.
Of course, I was naive and it did not mean anything to me. At the time, I had just finished my first photography course at HCC and was into shooting black and white.
I did not shoot much while there because photography was not acceptable in most places and prohibited in many.
Everywhere there were signs saying photography prohibited, so only shot when I was able to do so and felt safe about it. I did meet a fellow who had been to America and he showed me around and got me into to shoot a few places, but without his help, I would have not come back with much.
