The supply boat will drop its anchor a few hundred feet
out and back into the rig. The crane lowers the ropes to
the deckhands to tie up. Then the anchor is tightened to
keep the bow in place. Some rigs use buoys for that.
Tied to a rig like this can be a very dangerous and tedious time.
The current, seas, and winds affect the boats ability to remain tied up.
During times of rough weather, a line can break causing all sorts of havoc.
These are the times when a captain earns his money and times when being good
at doing the jobs makes one question if being the best is worth it?
