My 3rd climb to Mt. Pulag has been a very memorable one. I was with good old JCI Manila friends and I also met new friends from Jci Marikina Marikit, JCI Marilao Marilag, JCI Ilang Ilang and JCI Macajalar 24k.
This trip is a bit different from my first 2 trips where we stayed at Camp 3 for the night. This time we were forced to stay at the Ranger Station since the DENR was not allowing anyone to stay overnight at any of the 3 camp sites. I actually preferred this since I know I would be more protected if ever it rained hard and if the wind is blowing strong (my 2nd Pulag trip was torture). I knew I would be able to sleep better and get the needed rest for the trek the following day. The downside is that we had to do a night trek from the Ranger Station to the summit then back down all in a span of 10-11hrs.
Me and my good friend Mark Burgos started our trek at 12:45am and reached the summit at 4:20am. It was really cold at the summit but we still managed to take a few snaps even though our hands were freezing. This is actually my first try at shooting the Milky Way. I actually wanted to do star trails (my first try too) but I didn't how to use my intervalometer!! haha i couldn't get the settings right so I decided to do the easier thing, Milky Way!! :)
I don't think I'll ever get tired of going up Mt. Pulag. I'm not a mountaineer, the only mountain I've climbed is Pulag and I've done it 3x!
Looking forward for the next trek!!
:)
Thank you to all my bundok friends!!
