After the Storm

Not a very attractive photo, but it shows what things look like
after a typical winter storm on the Pacific coast. The high winds
blow all the driftwood up against the shores. During the storms the
driftwood crashes violently against the shore, making it dangerous
for people and dogs to be anywhere near.

You can see root structures on some of the driftwood. Those are trees
that were naturally uprooted and blown into the ocean. But the vast
majority of the driftwood pieces are logs that broke loose from the
commercial log booms that travel along the coast.

Goodness, there's a lot of timber there!

Impressive storm detritus, perhaps for repurposing somehow. The post-storm sky is lovely and the bird is a wonderful element.

That is a lot of lost logs. I am glad you informed us of the danger, because I would not have thought of that myself. The image tells this story well. ~V~

Wow, that's a lot of wood! You're right, I wouldn't want to be on the beach with the dogs while those logs were finding a place to land.

That's quite a bit of wood. My neighbor used to make amazing carvings out of driftwood. Looks like you have plenty of raw material here.

that's extensive flotsam and tidewrack, but at least the cumulative debris is organic and biodegradable over time..

Holy cow, that is a lot of drift wood. I would like exploring that. V
