After the Storm
Not a very attractive photo, but it shows what things look like
after a typical winter storm on the Pacific coast. The high winds
blow all the driftwood up against the shores. During the storms the
driftwood crashes violently against the shore, making it dangerous
for people and dogs to be anywhere near.
You can see root structures on some of the driftwood. Those are trees
that were naturally uprooted and blown into the ocean. But the vast
majority of the driftwood pieces are logs that broke loose from the
commercial log booms that travel along the coast.
