Kagoshima located in the south part of Kyushu. The most famous landmark of the city is the Sakurajima volcano. It is an active volcano and it located only a few kilometers away from the city. Thus, it is important to monitor the activity of the volcano. The last most powerful eruption occured in 1914 and it has been erupting almost constantly. There are thousands of small eruptions every year.



Beside the JR station, there is a ferris wheel on the top of the Amu Plaza.
It is a good place to view the whole city at 91m above the ground.
