One Saturday Ryan and I drove south and a little west, over the Santa Cruz Mountains, to the coast. First we went to Point Lobos. This is a peninsula that has been made into a state park with trails along the ocean. This is the picnic area at the parking lot at the end of the park road where the trail to Bird Island starts.
