Both Rush Ranch and Grizzly Island are areas that I love to visit because of their diversity.
Approximately 20 miles from Vallejo off of Grizzly Island Rd is Rush Ranch.
Rush Ranch is a 2,070-acre open space area located in southern Solano County, California. It is bordered on one side by the Suisun Marsh, an extremely vital component of the San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary. Rush Ranch has won countless loyal hearts with its vast open spaces of rolling grasslands, it's serene tranquility, it's history, and it's abundance of bird and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Continuing on Grizzly Island Rd you cross over bridges, pass by wetlands, marshes, pastures and rolling hills to enter Grizzly Island.
Nestled in several sloughs, Grizzly island offers a variety of wildlife with little disturbance from other humans... except during hunting season. See tule elk, otters, raptors, a plethora of water birds and others.
