This is a spectacular gallery filled with so many masterful captures exploring one of my favorite subjects. For me, steam locomotives and associated aspects of old rail roads are a combination of engineering and art. In your gallery each image tells a story often with historical implications. Marvelous collection. I am especially fascinated by the pictures of steam engines here. It rekindles my long desire to visit and photograph Darjeeling, India, which has probably the last of steam engines running on narrow gauge line through the foothills of Himalayas. Inspiring work Dan.

My mother and I went on a trip by Steam powerd Rail.
I was 3 or 4 and I can still remember that ride.

I love this gallery too, what a luck to find it! PBase is so huge that it’s rarely possible to find out all what it might offer to please our tastes in photography.
I like trains; I think they offer a nearly endless source of inspiration for vibrant photography.
You have done an excellent work in this gallery, mixing up different kinds of photos on the same theme.
