These two men stay out in this building for weeks at a time watching over Laughing Bird Caye National Park which is mostly underwater. The island this sits on, Laughing Bird Caye, is only about 1.8 total acres. At this point near the middle of the island, is only about 50 or so feet wide from one side to the other. The whole island seems to be only about 5 feet or so above sea level. We went there via a 45 minute boat ride to go snorkeling. This area has lots of wonderful underwater sights. Belize is home to the 2nd biggest barrier reef in the world after the Great Barrier Reef in northeast Australia.
