My First Fly Picture

Parker, CO

Sometimes you just get lucky. I was outside in my backyard reading and had both of my cameras, one with a super telephoto lens and one with a macro lens, sitting on the table in front of me. At one point, this fly landed on one of the pillows and stayed there while I grabbed the camera with the macro lens. This is my first and only, so far, successful picture of a fly.

It's a success ... You have to start over .... In French "to take the fly" means to get angry ...;-)

Good job. I use this lens all the time for my insect macros. It's just long enough so they you can grab a close shot without intimidating the subject. It is great at all shooting distances. V.

Excellent detail, and they're prettier than I thought with those iridescent colors! V.

They are indeed tricky to photograph... well done, super sharp
