A Million Footprints in Monochrome

Death Valley National Park, CA

Although I just posted the color version of this as my end of the day photo yesterday and I usually wait awhile before posting an alternate version, I am already posting this B&W version to end the day today. I made a decent size print of this I wish you could see, because seeing it on line I don't think really does it justice. It is not a multi shot pano, just a crop of from a single shot. It has been tone mapped, which is when you make an HDR out of a single image.

I normally prefer color to B&W, but I must say this version is stunning. Outstanding work, Dan. V.

Yes Dan! The mono version is outstanding. Ansel Adams would be proud to call this one his own.
It really would look great on the wall! V

It has excellent tonal quality. I particularly like the color version for the subtle colors that you captured.

It looks like Death Valley was made for B&W!

breath-taking...the many footprints add texture, and the awesome shadows define the terrain so effectively...outstanding image....V
