Despite the signs saying that it was only for guest use, the inn allowed us out onto the terrace for my parents to reminisce a bit. When they first stayed there 40 years ago, the cost of a night was $68. Today, the cost runs around $375 a night. Still expensive, but not quite as bad when you put it in perspective and consider that $68 in 1966 was almost a month's rent for my parent's tiny apartment in Berkeley.
