We took the Behind the Scenes tour that gave us some more information on the inner workings of the house such as the gas lighting, the elevators, and other technical matters that included a tour of the basement. The part about this was that we had to wear hardhats. How cool is that? Sadly, I discovered that I probably didn't need to wear one as they mainly seemed to be protection from hitting the plumbing and gas pipes that were only a little over five feet off the ground. I sailed under them and only hit a few because the hat made me taller....
