And now that the lock doors are shut, we start to see cars going across. Apparently at water level, there is a single lane bridge for cars that retracts into the sides of the canals just before the lock doors open. We were informed that the water vessels always have priority and that there isn't another bridge for miles, so the cars who need to cross just have to wait on the ships.
