"Let's climb a volcano! It will be fun!" I said to my husband when looking at activities we could do in St. Kitts. Forget about the fact that I have a bum hip. Forget about the fact that I haven't seen the inside of a gym in years. What a challenge! How cool would it be to say that I have climbed a volcano?! If it hadn't been for our wonderful guide, Al, I never would have made it to the top. A climb that most people do in two hours took me three, but Al was so patient and encouraging and kept me laughing the whole way. Unfortunately, once you get to the lovely views on the top, you have to hike back down. I'm pretty sure the downhill hike is the reason why three days later, I have a bruise under my toenail and still can't walk regularly down stairs. But what an adventure!
