you can change the resolution for one full turn from 25Khz to
6.25 Khz by cutting off the following diodes,D19,D23,D20,D24 near IC 20,
and D26,D22 near IC21, like seen on the pics below.This mod is not new and you will do it
by your own risk, but it still works here for years now.
You have to remove the top cover, then look near the front to the right.
