This is a fountain outside a small museum in Aberdeen. The museum sits right in the heart of
Aberdeen’s city centre. It’s a strange place, a medieval type building set within lush gardens,
right in the middle of the 70’s glass and iron monstrosity, that is Aberdeen city council’s HQ.
Provost Skene’s House is named unsurprisingly after Provost George Skene, a wealthy merchant who
lived there in the 17th century. At this point Aberdeen was emerging as a flourishing trading port.
The museum is a period attraction whose rooms are furnished with fittings from the 17th, 18th and
19th centuries. It houses a large collection of clothes and costumes which form the body of monthly
exhibitions showing fashion through the ages as well as temporary exhibitions of Aberdeen’s social
history which usually showcase items found in donators attics.
strangely this seems on upload to be a lot softer in focus than the original, does anyone have
any idea what's causing this?
