22-05-05 dandelion

The final day of the football season had arrived. Aberdeen were sitting in fourth place with only
three points and Hib’s sitting between them and a place in European competition next season. We
needed to beat Hearts, and Rangers to beat Hibs, with a 6 goal difference, to claim third
outright. In the end despite a valiant effort, we ended up just 2 goals short. And with that the
football season, and an object of my obsession is now over with. The less said about the other
game the better, but needless to say we were given no favours.

Only about 6 weeks left until we’re back in pre-season training though, so it’s not all that bad!

When we got back to the in-laws this evening this was sat at the front of their lawn. It was too
perfect to miss, I knew exactly how I wanted the shot to turn out, with the background not only
blurred, but very dark, so it “isolated” the wispiness of the seeds (thought I’d get that in
quickly to beat Northy & Zak).

Well that’s it for the regular posting for a while. Despite being back in Aberdeen the “erratic
PAD posting service” will resume shortly. Catherine’s headed off for a wee break in Dublin with a
friend, and the Oly’ has headed off with her. As a result I’m going to be shooting in film this
week (how quaint), & getting the neg’s scanned at the point of processing. I’m not brave, or
technically equipped enough yet to even consider doing this myself, so I’ll just leave it up to the
nice people in Tesco.

This is lovely in B&W, has a really soft mellow feel to it.

Perfect shot. I often know exactly the shot I want to take....and end up with something completely different hehe.

The perspective, one in front of the other brings DR's 'Closer' video, doesn't it? Great shot. Nice in BW

The low light, shallow DOF and blurred background .. b&w give depth of emotion here.. I like that you knew what you wanted and then went out to get it. Excellent.
Film? Um.. what's that? LOL

Great comp with the spent one in behind ... too bad about the film - hope it turns out good. It will be a good experiment you can share with us!

The dandelion-ness ;-)

Dandeliontastic (also to get in before Zak). I quite like the idea of scanning film, and am almost tempted to but a Nikon film camera !!
