29-04-05 progress at last

It's the missing link!

This is the photo which I thought I had taken down to Glasgow with me, when in actual fact it was
still sat on the PC at home. Ironic really seeing as the PC will soon be sitting in this home.
That's our new house - last one on the right.

I went away to London dispondant as there hadn't been any progress on the build. Catherine called
me half way through the week, I could have peeled her off the roof. Not only had the first floor
gone in, but the second, as well as the roof trusses. By the end of the week they had added the
roofing felt as well as the batons used to hold the tiles onto the roof. No corrugated iron here
Laine! Went out there last night too (06/05/05), and the whole thing's now weather proofed - with
polyethylene over where the windows and doors will eventually go. They've also been working on
the inside too - pity really - this is as close as we can get, and I can't watch the progress inside!

As you can see they've made a fair bit of progress since I last showed you this scene. Its a different
angle, but you get the idea.

Great photo, Dom. What a view and excellent light you'll have.

I can relate to the agony. The view should fantastic until somebody builds next door.

Looking good. When's the housewarming?

We built the home we're in now, and it is a huge process! We were no allowed inside ours due to liability on the part of the builder, and also because they wanted to "control" what we did to it. They were completely inflexible about us bringing in an unapproved contractor to add alarms, house wiring for speakers or phones, additional lighting or plumbing - anything that they could get money out of us for, they controlled.

But once it's done, it will be wonderful! Your view looks great and the house looks so big from this view! Continued good luck!

Wonderful progress. It looks as though you will have a very nice view. It interests me that you can't get nearer. We walked the floors of our own house each day as it was being built. We even took on the job of construction cleanup each day so that the work environment was clean and we could minimize wasted materials. Is that a safety code rule?
