30-10-04 St. Nicholas kirkyard

This is the side of St Nicholas kirk in Aberdeen. we were in town to do some shopping yesterday,
and meet up with my old flatmate, and his fiancee, to iron out some details for next weekend. It's
our best man's 30th birthday, and he makes up the triptych of the flatmates! So next week it will
be photo's from and around Lytham St. Annes.

Anyway the St Nicholas Kirk's quite a unique church in Aberdeen, as it's bells aren't sounded by
being pulled in the same way as other churches. It has a carillion, which I understand it a sort
of organ, but instead of pipes playing notes, it's the bells! It's the largest in the UK.

This was taken yesterday, and posted today, as I ended up having a couple more than I should have,
which meant we didn't make it home last night!

All 3 are terrific, but I really like the b/w on this. Completes the eerieness one expects in a cemetary. Very nice Dom.

it's quite unique too that people feel safe enough walking through the graveyard as a shortcut, even though it's full of all the expected no-gooders!

Excellent B&W shot.

Excellent shot, Dom. Great DOF, toning and comp. You're really coming on, fella.

I like this a lot. The steps, the wet path branching off, tress with a few leaves left, old house in the background... And is that someone on the path behind the fence post? Yup - nice image!

And here I was thinking you had succumbed to some nasty virus...!!
This is an excellent capture, those stairs invite you to climb. The church carillion would be wonderful to hear.
