As a Chinese, I must say that I almost forget that our country is such beautiful. To me, there images are quite surreal. Beautiful at an "untouchable" level. An imaginary place of another universe, it seems. Really love it.

great pictures, especially the use of light. I always remember Hangzhou is foggy and rainy which makes the West Lake refreshing and attractive. Do you still have the name of the hotel?

Cynthia, I love these pictures, China looks amazing. I have an old camera and have been in the market looking for a new one. Your pictures alone are very inspiring to the point that I think that I am going to get the Canon 350 D. I just wish you had the settings for these shots so I could go around here (Denver, CO) and try to get at least one picture as beautiful as all of yours. Thank you for displaying your art.

What "point" could the critics here be looking for? What is the "point' of a midnight rain? Any point to a leaveless aspen tree in winter? If these pictures do something for you, then they do. If not, o well, then they don't. No point in pressing an artist to tell you what you should be seeing for yourself or not.

Hi David, The title of this gallery is "China Elegant", not "China Today". I m not a reporter so I never intend to transfer any global message through my viewfinder. I m just an ordinary person to capture subjective feeling & experience in my daily life. This gallery is all about architecture & lighting technique concern, nothing more, sorry if it mis-lead you.

Nice pics, if your goal is pretty desktop images. I've lived in China and Taiwan for several years, and these photos are missing the point entirery in my opinion. Makes me think of Ikea.

The images themselves are excellent. I'm not quite sure I get the theme of the gallery, though. While you went on a vacation to China, I feel more like I'm looking at an advertisement for an upscale Chinese restaurant (food, seating, etc), rather than seeing nice pics of Chinese gardens and monuments. Still, again, very nice work as it is.
