It's 2003 all over again...

This isn't my picture -- I found it on the web and added the text.
This image is from our horrible 2003 Cedar fire, which claimed
2000 homes. Today we have SEVEN fires in San Diego County alone,
with extraordinarily high winds, absolutely no humidity (so everthing
is bone dry) and no change in the weather forecast for several days.

They're already saying it might be worse than 2003.

Gary, stay safe! I've been following this. I sure hope that you and Robin get out of this okay. My prayers for you and all those living there!

Gary, I don't know where you are, but watching the news just now, Robin's area is under smoke on the satalite images. Take care of yourself and be safe. We are all praying for you.

I took my dog to Huntington Beach this morning and the inland sky was golden brown with ash from all of these fires! Soot and ash is covering everything. My white truck looks dark gray and it was just washed Saturday.

Having seen the extreme drought in Australia I have a feeling for these extreme conditions but fire is so terrifying. Our thoughts are with you as we keep informed from the TV news. Yes, stay safe!

Update: they've now evacuated 250,000 people. No signs of containment yet.

Some powerful force! It should bring fear to all of us. Sorry Gary.

Ditto here Gary... The smoke is so thick I have a sore throat as a result of it.
