Is there life on a pear?

I launched a probe deep into the food group pyramid
to explore a pear, looking for signs of intelligent life.
Even from this distance, you can see evidence of surface cavities,
ancient seismic activity, deep crevaces and the like.

Perhaps in the future, budget permitting, I'll send a landing craft.

This image was made possible by mounting my 75-300
USM III lens on three extension tubes: 12, 20, and 36.
Then a tripod, manual focus, a bit of blue language,
and voila. An image. Not a particularly compelling
image, but it was something to do while watching
the early returns on the election.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi ,+ three extension tubes

I am sure I see bottom(buttock) don't know exactly the name, so I think it's not a pear.

OMG, look at that! I think I see my body double there in the upper right hand corner... and I think she's waving to me. Is that possible?

I see Dave Beedon's footprints going right through that ravine, top left.

And to think we will spend hundreds of millions of dollars, and risk lives,
to repair the camera on the Hubble Telescope.
Whereas, you have breakthrough discoveries for a little more than a year's worth of lunch money. Vote.

What ever you get, manual focus will still be there. You have a good level of details here.

There are whole new worlds out there to explore :)
Scott Browne08-Nov-2006 04:00
So if you do find life, are you still gonna eat the pear?
Jay Levin08-Nov-2006 03:55
I see those extension tubes are still coming in handy, Gary. And you've now taught me that they can be used effectively on a zoom lens. You see how useful your photo is? This is a great piece of work! Vote
