I was walking around during my lunch hour in Rancho Santa Fe today,
practicing taking pictures with my 50mm lens and the 12mm extension
tube. This crop of a shot of a Bird of Paradise revealed within it a tiny
ant, which I didn't even realize was there until I opened the image on the computer.
It's not the greatest ant picture, or even the best macro, but it's
part of my practice. And what, by the way, does the ant mean in terms of animal totems?
Well...
"The Ant teaches PATIENCE and who doesn't need a lot of this totem animal.
Every Ant contributes to the whole of the ant hill and shows its strength
in so doing. Share a little patience!"

How appropriate that an ANT shows up to teach me patience as I practice
with my new extension tubes!
