Another milestone!

Yesterday, by coincidence rather than planning, my lifetime
bicycling odometer hit exactly 3,000 miles, which I believe
is roughly the distance across the USA, coast to coast.

I made it a little easier by doing my riding in metropolitcan
San Diego, thus avoiding the little hills called the Rocky
Mountains, and the deserts, and so on.

I have a friend who really DID ride across America in less than a month.

But, considering I hadn't ridden a bike in a couple of decades,
I'll pleased with my achievement.

3,000 miles? Outstanding. How many tires did you go through?

Great example of a trip by proxy. I drove across the country in 2002: by design it took me four weeks to reach Rochester, NY. Next time I'll confine my driving to Renton and claim a coast-to-coast milestone. By the way, who is that behind those Foster Grants?

What is lifetime bicycling odometer? Total on different bikes? One bike?

Congrats! what's next, to the moon? ;^))

Dave, I had to correct my commentary above. He did the ride in under a month, but not eleven days. My mistake! Still, an amazing achievement for him, riding what we call a Century or more every single day.

Congratulations! If you do pedal coast to coast, ring my doorbell as you go by.
Your freind crossing the continent in 11 days is phenomenal.
It would probably take me nearly that long in my Jeep.

Oh... and there is a reason why I haven't mentioned how much I like the headgear.

Congratulations! Great cycling. Don't blame you, wouldn't want to try to get up those Rocky Mountain hills! hehe.
