It was a long night for the San Diego Surf Dawgs, beaten like a drum
(11-6) by the Long Beach Armada. It was Ricky Henderson night, too.
The 46 year old future Hall of Famer was honored before the game,
and then picked off first base in the first inning. Oh, the humanity!

These two teams are part of the Golden Basebasll League, which is a
minor league of about A or AA quality. The teams are NOT, however,
farm teams of major league teams. They exist on their own. Each player
is paid between $1,000 and $3,000 per MONTH. (Yes, even Ricky Henderson)
