This is the "bloom" (?) of a plant that, like all the flowers, shrubs,
trees and birds around here, I can't identify. I think it's a succulent.
Anyway, I found a three-stemmed specimen in the front yard of my
townhouse, broken off a larger plant, and without any visible roots. On
a whim, I potted it and put it aside my front door figuring I'd get a week
or two from it before it thoroughly dried out and died.
Lo and behold! It thrived for some time, and then began wha appeared to
be an inevitable decline. Then a couple of days ago a friend said -- "This
needs water!" (I thought it was the kind of plant that needed very little water.)
I gave it some, and lo and behold! What was once all purplish brown now has
new growth and is green. It's alive! It's ALIVE!!!
So, I tried looking up succulents on the internet to identify it, but
could not find it. Anyone care to ID it?
