Flower & Cone

Wanted to see what I could do with the kit lens and not much
time. This is in the cactus garden across from Balboa Park.
Like any "serious" photographer, there I was, crouched on the
grass, looking up into the sky to get this shot, while people
around me just sort of stared and shook their heads. ROFL!

Excellent close-up.

Yep the stem is perfect. Such color contrasts.
I like to see people's reaction when I'm lying on the ground trying to look thru the viewfinder. Get some pretty funny looks that way, too.

Let 'em shake their heads. Beautiful, awsome, stunning, and gets my vote! Great job, Gary!

Very nicely done, when I first glanced it appeared suspended in air. Nice color.

Striking against the blue sky ... :)

You did good Gary. The lovely clear red is perfect against the blue.

Oh, my gosh!... this is dramatic! While it resolved in thumbnail it was interesting until the stem appeared and then it was irresistibly impressive! (3D-ish, ya'know)

I like the way this is perched out there. Great red!
