Portrait of an Old Friend

I had plans of visiting Quail Gardens this morning with ace
photographer, Herb Knufken http://www.pbase.com/herb1rm/profile
but there were just too many work projects going on so I couldn't go.

This is my trusty Norelco coffee maker, a machine I've been using
for almost 20 years. I keep hoping it will break down so I can
get something new and fancy, but dang it! It just keeps going and
going and going and going.

Your coffee maker can be your friend!

Just goes to show, things were made to last back then, if you bought a new fancy coffee maker, I guarantee, it won't last 2 years. ;-)

I like the tones. It looks old and well-used. What's your secret? I need a new one every couple of years.

It is tough to let go of a good coffee maker. I just went through the trauma of replacing mine. Bought one, took it back after a few days, bought a different one - we're still in the dating stage.

Don't talk too soon. Mine is still in for a service http://www.pbase.com/gaild/image/38670468) and I can't wait to get it back.

Well I guess I`m finger dislexic,Lol. Because in my previous message I was trying to write "Don`t" and "Friend" and I wrotte "Don" and "griend"
Better I go to get some coffe :-D
Guest 01-Feb-2005 20:38
Don change your coffe maker. As you said is a great griend, besides people say that with the years of the machine, the coffe you make there is even more delicious!!!

I like the work on this image. It accomplishes exactly what it was intended to. After I vote, I'm gettin' up and refilling my cup. Nice job, Gary!

Never get rid of a coffee maker that makes good coffee! (I would say "send it over here," but it probably won't work on 240V.)
Cliff01-Feb-2005 16:37
Indeed - at 7am it may be your ONLY friend :o)
