Years ago, there was a small (by contemporary standards) family-
owned amusement park in East County, San Diego. It closed years
ago, victim of changing tastes. It simply couldn't compete with
the Disneylands of the world.
I drove by today, and found this small ferris wheel still standing,
the vegetation growing almost wild around it. It was rather sad
in a way. There are thousands of San Diegans who can remember this
park from their childhood, but they cannot share it with their own
children anymore.
