Metamorphosis

My daughter approaches her sixteenth birthday, and from
time to time, the adult within her shows herself. I am
almost always startled to see the grown-up in the child's
body, but there's no denying she's there. I suppose she
appears from time to time to give me time to begin letting go

...of my little girl.

I know what you mean Gary. I have a 14 year old, and she's already starting to muster her independence. Sometimes I miss "daddy's little girl." Nice photo.

I know exactly what you mean, Gary.. First of all, she does look like an adult here.. seeming to ponder the world and what her day will be like. Secondly.. my children are all adults and yet I still am startled from time to time - not so much with their adult looks.. but with their adult actions.

And I'm only 28 ... what the hell?

Yes, and it goes so fast, enjoy the time together. (not always easy with teens)
