Asteroid N44-C

Don't tell ME the Sigma 55-200 doesn't have reach. I took
several dozen shots of asteroids in orbit between Mars and
Jupiter and this is the best of the lot. It helped to have
a very clear night and to use a tripod.

N44-C is approximately one-half mile in length, and a quarter
mile in width. It is as close to Earth as it will be over the
next 87 years.

My alternative PaD is here: http://www.pbase.com/digitalgee/image/34843302

other sizes: small medium original auto

Those light spots look like petroglyphs or graffit---you've documented something astounding.

Oh, great. First you're taking pictures of yourself in the shower, now you're taking pictures of your asteroids. What's next? Have you no decency, man? (And you told me there were no outtakes!)

soso, and you call me certifiable - which word fits here then ? :-))

Gary, you're brilliant. Your sense of humor is priceless, and you add a lot to PaD. And what a lens!!! :)

Pretty awesome work here Gary. What exposure did you use? Guess you must have used a tripod? Does NASA have this photo? Good one!! LOL!
