My Dad

Ed's 85, in fairly robust health, and a die-hard fan of
SpongeBob SquarePants. This was taken on the morning of his 65th wedding anniversary.

Dad flew 65 missions as a gunner and radio operator in
a medium bomber in WWII. His position in the plane was behind
the wing at the bottom of the plane. He had a 50 cal. machine
gun on each side of the window.

On D-Day, he flew two missions and was on one of the last flights over
the beaches before the troops landed. My dad is the last surviving
member of his crew.

Like most of his peers, he rarely talks about his service.

I see the funny bone runs in the family .
Great smile on pops and a fantastic achievement. 65 years wed and still talking to each other and smiling too! A real hero, as a military man and as a civilian.

What a character, what a life! Now I see you've got your smile and great sense of humor after both - your Mom and Dad, Gary.
Happy Anniversary to your wonderful Parents.

I'm intrigued to learn about his history. And this is a terrific shot. I now see where you got some of your sense of humor. What a special event that day Gary.

Great shot an what an amazing life. He looks very happy.
I keep telling the producers they're missing a tremendous opportunity in the over-80 market ;o)

Your Dad has a great smile. I can tell by the cantor of his hat that he is fun to be around.
Today is my Dad's 85th birthday. I am expecting him and Mom to come over this afternoon to celebrate.
