Brighter and clearer

Isabel uploaded this wonderful shot of a Woodpecker. I felt it could be
just a bit brighter and crisper to show him off. I first used "defog", then
lowered the opacity of that layer and merged it with the original. I then
used image>adjustments>brightness/contrast.

Interesting and definitely better. I use clarify in PSP which probably does the same thing.

This looks 100% better. The bird was in the shade when I shot it and I always try to make my images look like what I see, but there's certainly nothing wrong with improving on them and I like what you've done, Sue.
