Peeka' s Woodpecker

Peeka got this great shot of a woodpecker that would have been even better if it were a bit darker. With birds you don't have the time to check the histogram especially with a camera that only shows a histogram AFTER you take the shot..bird would be long gone. You will see in the "next" picture that the histogram which shows up in the levels adjustment has a rise on the right indicating overexposd areas. The picture can, however, be adjusted for a more pleasing result. In bright sunlight, such as the condition under which this picture was shot, it's a good idea to underexpose by at least 1/3 EV, and probably -2/3 would be even better. Click on "next"
