Carrie's Mom

Carrie posted this image for us to retouch. Shan Canfield, originator of the Powder Action tried to post a comment including a link, but pbase won't allow guests to post links, so I posted it for her and substituted two dashes where slashes belong in the address. Copy the link and past it into your browser, replacing the dashes with slashes, to see Shan's editing. (Isabel)

All I did was add a Curves adj layer to brighten and a Hue/Sat adj layer
to tone down reds and desaturate a bit. Then I used Mama's Lite Powder
for low res images just to brush on some softness and even the tone of
the skin. This image is no where near what's required for the original
powder to work properly--it was only 600x800, and the original powder
would only "flatten" the skin tone rather than preserving the luminosity
of the face. I also lowered the group/set for lite powder to 85% and
added a composite sharpen group, lowering it's opacity to 68%. I
considered going in with the healing tool to just shorten some of the
wrinkle lines starting on the outside of the wrinkle, but didn't do it
because I really like her face and her wrinkles.
here's the link to Mama's lite retouching.
