Fill Flash Test

Getting the background right with flash can be challenging. In this bounce flash test the white was way to bright. I had to tone it down. The doors on the right also strangely had a red tone to them so I had to desaturate the red. The highlights in Ricky's eyes didn't stand out enough so I painted them larger. Also tried lightening his irises a bit to make the eyes stand out more. That he is overdo for a grooming is not hard to tell!

I am enjoying your experiments, your explanations, AND your pooch. kristin

Sheri - today will be a good chance to experiment with the Pocket Bouncer. Haven't used it in a long time. I like the Omnibounce because it's neat and not a hassle to attach. I just leave it on...but if I can get better pictures with the Pocket Bouncer, I'll return to that.

Came out very nice considering the dynamic range in the scene. Ricky seems to have an in inquisitive look.

Cute picture, looks like Rickey is smiling. I will say I haven't been very happy with my Omniflash. Makes the lighting too flat, imo. I prefer the pocket bouncer or just rubberband a white card around the back of bounced flash head so as to project some light forward for eye twinkles.
