Soft Look Beegie

Opened original image and made two duplicate layers. Clicked the eye icon in the second duplicate layer to turn it off. Made the first duplicate (middle layer) active and applied Gaussian Blur to it. Clicked on the eye icon of the top duplicate and selected that layer to make it active. Adjusted the opacity slider to bring through some of the blurring. Flattened the image. Vignetted the edge. Ran the Paint With Light II action and lightened distracting elements.

What you did with the pic adds even more elegance to your cat. Nice work!

Very effective. Beegie certainly stands out with the soft treatment.

This sure gives Beegie a wonderfully regal look.

Marilyn...I tried to soften that lampstand and it didn't look good. I invite anyone else to try to tone that down and make it look good without affecting the whiskers and ear.

Fantastic! I love this kind of look! I might suggest that you remove or soften the base of the lamp behind Beegie's head. Thanks for including the instructions!

I like this treatment and will have to try it on something too! Thanks for telling us how to do it.

Very nice Isabel! My only suggestion would be to also "soften" the lamp base that looks like it is growing out of Beegie's head:)
