I've been on hiatus from Painter for a long time, probably over a year, and I've forgotten a lot. Have never really used version IX. Jeremy sutton's "Painter Creativity" is helping me along. If you want to REALLY paint your photographs you should think about investigating Painter. It's difficult to learn, but worth the effort.
