The line shooting up the right side of the graph indicates burnst out spots that have no detail. It is possible sometimes to regain detail in such areas if you shoot the image in RAW mode. If when you are shooting in raw, you made a test image and you see blinking black spots on the Rebel and 20D screens, you have such overexposed areas. Make a minus exposure compensation on your next try to get rid of those spots.
