I didn't make this one, but I'm planning to copy it and sew one soon.
The kappogi is a traditional Japanese garment worn over a kimono to keep it clean. I bought this one about 45 years ago in a New York City Japanese store. I originally used it as an apron. While it stayed the same size through the years, I didn't. I'm planning to make a pattern from it so I can make it larger. (The two photos were taken within a minute of each other - a storm was passing through - thus the different colors.
If you'd like to make one that's similar, and perhaps easier, check out this website: Here are two websites I found while look for information on how to make one: http://mybyrdhouse.blogspot.com/2007/11/november-apron-tutorial-kappogi.html and this one: http://nunolady.blogspot.com/2011/03/kappogi-japanese-apron.html
