April 13 - Challenge

Way too much mulch around these trees at our community's front entrance. Today a group of neighbors is going to remove it and hopefully find a good nearby place to receive what we remove.

We discovered when we started to clean it away that the trees had been planted high and roots were quite near the surface. We were able to get rid of quite a few yards of mulch and everyone is pretty exhausted, but it really doesn't look much different. At least we moved it away from the trunks and animal and insect damage should stop, hopefully.

Well, that indeed is going to be a challenge! Why would they put that much there to begin with?
