Louie was studying the dark deck so I suspected we had a visitor - turned out there were two raccoons at the bird feeder, one patiently waiting for the other to have its fill. I started by using the camera's internal flash and got a lot of reflections off the glass, even though I was holding the camera at an angle. (Ambient light was from two 65 watt floods in the deck ceiling.) Since I had an f/1.8 lens on the camera I just ditched the flash use and opened the lens all the way and cranked up the ISO to 1600. After a while the raccoon really wasn't bothered by me and went back to raiding. Click on "next".
