Intensity
I saw the great blue heron fishing in the marshes of the Everglades. The bird would remain frozen in place for long minutes,
looking for fish in the water below. When one appeared, the heron would arc his neck backwards, ready to strike.
I was captivated by the intensity in its amber eye, wondering whether the bird was aware at all of the time passing.
