A Door County landmark that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The iconic Hardy Gallery, with its graffiti covered exterior is an art gallery for
the creative local visual arts scene. For over fifty years, the unique exterior of
the Hardy Gallery has been preserved during the restorations in the 1950s.
Historically, the graffiti served as a means to document the comings and goings of
sailboats at Anderson dock and visiting boaters have 'signed' the warehouse walls
with their boats name and the year(s) they have docked there. Today, the tradition
of mark-making continues and it has become an intrinsic part of the Hardy's quirky
Door County charm.
