Introduced in 1963 the Buick Riviera was designed and equipped to appeal to the
sophisticated car buyer seeking quality and a fresh, new look in their next automobile.
While in direct competition to the 4-seat Ford Thunderbird, the Riviera offered an
impressive amount of standard equipment and sold exceptionally well. Every Riviera
came with power steering, power brakes, bucket seats, heater and defroster, windshield
washer, and two-speed windshield wipers.
