We only visited a 40 mile section of this escarpment, from Marble Canyon to the California Condor release site. The cliffs are various shades of red and are, in some cases, the the rim exceeds 6000 feet above sea level (asl). We spend a couple of hours watching the Condors riding the thermal currents and resting on the upper ledges of the cliffs. The only photo we have is a very poor quality digiscoped shot, at 60+ magification, at a distance of 1+ miles. The photo is of Condor #203, released from the Vermillion Cliffs about 2000.
