When we left Carlsbad, we decided to take a different route home, north and then west to Rudioso. About when it was time to start heading west, a brillant flash occurred up ahead in a small ranching town. Well, we were getting hungry anyway, so we stopped.

Apparently an UFO had crashed into a building in town. People were running around wringing their hands, others were sobbing and some were trying to sell the "aliens" Navajo-type jewerly.

Because the the place was in chaos, we decided to go to a small Mexican restaurant for a couple of burros. When we finished lunch, the crowd had thinned thinned out, so we went inside the building.

Apparently the "aliens" were only shaken up in the crash and they were rather calm, a couple of them were signing autographs and two others were exchanging business cards. One even had a few baseball type hats and was giving them to the children.

So before we left, we went over to one and introduced ourselves, telling them if they ever get to Tucson, please stop in and say hello, or whatever it said was their greeting.

So what started out as an uneventful trip towards home, was quite different.
