MNHS is located about 50 miles south of Bishop, CA along US Route 395.
This NHS was one of many relocation sites of World War II US citizens of Japanese descent. The museum at the site depicts vividly the abuses borne by the people who were incarcerated (relocated) there by the US government.
We cannot begin to explain our feelings of the intense grief and overpowering fear we felt while on the site.
Enjoyed your galleries, reminded me of my youth when my parents took us camping to many of the locations in your CA National Parka trip. Kings Canyon had many memories. Thank you.
What we did to the Japanese during WW II was one of the saddest periods of our history. Thank you for reminding us, we needed it.
