Chad's Ford is located along US Route 1 and the Brandywine River, about 30 miles southwest of the historic distric in downtown Philadelphia.

We stayed at the Brandywine River Hotel, a small and delightful hotel in the heart of historic area. Nearby were: many antique shops; wineries; The Brandywine River Museum (three generations of Wyeth paintings) and the Brandywine Battlefield State Park.
